Programs in Fashion Design

Undergraduate Programs

Fashion Design – IED (Milan, Italy and Rome, Italy)

The Fashion Design three years course has as its objective to give the student a solid base regarding the various aspects of this field, exploring both the methods and the technical-operations side, helping to form a highly flexible specialist capable of working in various types of environments and disciplines: from the small artisanal producer, to the small-medium size company, all the way up to the largest multinationals.

Fashion Stylist – IED (Milan, Italy)

The objective of the three years course of Fashion Stylist is to professionally prepare students for the fashion sector who will then be capable of effectively contributing to the communication process, the promotion and therefore the total enhancement of the fashion product and the imaginary esthetic/style which it characterizes.

Jewelry Design – IED (Milan, Italy)

The Jewelry Designer must know how to combine knowledge of the market, the commercial requirements and the capacity to interpret tendencies, with the ideas born from the culture of design projects, art and lastly fashion.

Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design – NABA Milano (Milan, Italy)

The goal of the BA in Fashion Design is to prepare students to find a job within the Italian and international fashion system. Each year of the program is structured to help the student achieve learning objectives in a coherent and progressive way. Each year, students can take a fun, experimental course focused on coaching and free creativity, from which they gain motivation and passion and discover their personal skills through teamwork.

Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design – IED (Barcelona, Spain)

ED Barcelona is the only centre in Spain imparting the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Fashion Design validated by the University of Westminster. Since 2010 it offers the opportunity to combine the studies of this prestigious university, entirely taught in English, with the IED experience in the city of Barcelona.

Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Fashion – University of Derby (UK)

In 2015 our BA (Hons) Fashion Studies course achieved 100% satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS)!

You’ll have the chance to exhibit internationally. Lucy Outhwaite and Ravinder Marathu showed their work on the catwalk at the three-day 15th Ningbo International Fashion Fair. The placement opportunities are excellent. Madeleine Rigby worked as a product developer for menswear, underwear and loungewear at BC International.

During the first semester of your first year you’ll be taught alongside the BA (Hons) Textile Design students where you will gain valuable skills such as knit and print, pattern cutting and manufacture. Contextual Studies and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) will continue through to the final year giving you a positive advantage within the fashion and textiles industries. This integration of skills and knowledge has produced innovative and creative textile and fashion designers.

We encourage all second years to take a work placement in industry, which will also give you an additional qualification – the Diploma in Professional Practice.  Placements are hard work but give you fantastic experience.  Fashion Studies student Krishna Haveliwa secured a placement at Vogue magazine in New York. She began work a few days before New York fashion week and part of her job involved attending a number of the shows.

Graduate Programs

Master of Arts in Fashion and Textile Design – NABA Milano (Milan, Italy)

The MA in Fashion and Textile Design offers students deep and wide educational experience that helps prepare them for the career of their choice. The program’s main courses, taught by leading fashion professionals, rely heavily on lab experience. While in most schools, industry professionals have the role of visiting professors, in this program they lead a full design mentorship experience, monitoring and guiding the development of each student’s individual skills.

Master in Fashion Design – Domus Academy (Milan, Italy)

The Master in Fashion Design program brings students into direct contact with the fashion design industry in Italy and abroad. You’ll have the rare and exciting opportunity to develop your own original, compelling fashion collection under the guidance of industry professionals.

Master in Fashion Styling and Visual Merchandising – Domus Academy (Milan, Italy)

The Master in Fashion Styling & Visual Merchandising program investigates the role of the fashion stylist—one who selects the clothing for fashion editorials, advertisements, music videos, etc.—alongside the role of the visual merchandiser, one who creates three-dimensional fashion displays to provide customers with fresh in-store experiences.

Master in Jewelry Design – IED (Rome, Italy)

The objective of the Master in Jewellery Design is to form professionals who will be able to enter and succeed in the complex world of jewellery, a sector evolving over the past two decades which has been subject to important transformations and that, as such, requires a thorough understanding of all its aspects. The jewel designer must be able to operate in different areas of the jewellery (watches, fine jewellery, precious stones, fashion accessories, metals …) with an open mind for creative aspects, as well as those operative (from centenary techniques to more sophisticated tools such as three-dimensional modeling). The Master also offers a broad and strategic vision on trends and market developments, in order to interpret and give an original character to collections, in line with future scenarios.
